Stay At Home Jobs For Moms

Thousands of women every month search online desperately seeking jobs for stay at home moms, but is it really possible to earn decent cash from home in your pajamas?  The internet is full of companies trying to sell this, that, or the other program promising riches, but what about real, honest, legitimate opportunities that full-time moms can do from home?  Do those exist?  Yes, they do.

Now, there are two ways to look at making money online from home.  You can either start a business. and advertise your business online, or you can work essentially as a contractor or employee for another company.  For the purposes of this article, I’m going to assume you do not desire to be the entrepreneurial type, so I’m just going to focus on opportunities for the aspiring at home employee/contractor.

Okay, first off, looking for stay at home jobs for moms that are not scams is just like looking for any other job.  You need to have an accurate assessment of what your skills are, and, even more important, what your work desires are.  While it may seem more of a romantic setting to work from home as opposed to working in an office, you need to remember that you’ll probably be working by yourself staring at your computer all day.  Now, while there’s nothing wrong with that, I just mention it to emphasize the importance of finding something you enjoy doing.

Alright, enough said about that.  With the plethora of options out there to legitimately make money from home, here are five that I feel are easy to access, don’t require up-front money to start, and can generate money rather quickly.

1)      MAKE MONEY AS A VIRTUAL ASSISTANT

If managing calendars, appointments, and general administrative tasks are what you have a knack for, working as a virtual assistant might be right up your alley.  Not only can you work from home, but you can make really good money doing it.  I know virtual assistants that charge $15-$20 per hour.

2)      HANDLE CUSTOMER SERVICE CALLS FOR COMPANIES

If you enjoy talking to people over the phone and feel that you may enjoy an opportunity in customer service, there are many companies like major airlines that will not only hire you to work from home, but, in many cases, will supply you with a computer, phone, and other equipment you’ll need to get the job done.

3)      FREELANCE WRITING

Article writers are a need for many companies.  Whether it’s for social media, internet marketing, or preparing a company’s monthly newsletter, there are lots of opportunities out there to make money writing.  Companies like www.odesk.com and www.about.com are good places to start.

5)     POST ADS ON YOUR WEBSITE OR BLOG

Do you have a website or blog that already gets good traffic?  If so, you can make money from it.  By subscribing to a free service like Google Adsense, you can post ads from other companies on your site.  Here’s how it works: when you subscribe to Google Adsense, you’ll be able to post a snippet of code on your site.  Google will read your site, and turn that code into either a text or image ad promoting a product or service from another company that is relevant to your site’s content.  It’s completely passive income.  You can’t beat that!

4)      MAKE MONEY FROM YOUR PHOTOS

While you may not consider yourself to be the best photographer in the world, if you’re at least decent at taking photos, you might be able to make money from them.  Sites like Istockphoto.com will allow you to post your images and sell a digital copy of them online.  Hey, why not?
